About the Transfer Experience System

Students have the opportunity to challenge program requirements based on relevant work or life skills and knowledge gained prior to starting your program at Georgian.

If you're planning to study in a program where you have relevant work or life experience in that field, you may be eligible to receive credit through Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR).

Earn college credit for work or life experience!

Through the Transfer Experience System, Georgian is dedicated to assisting applicants and students in obtaining college credit based on prior work or life experience.

  • As an applicant, you can explore courses relevant to your prior learning, talk one-on-one with an advisor about your options.
  • As a student, you can do all the above and create an e-portfolio that enables you to document and compile your prior learning for evaluation of credit.

You can also explore other options for prior learning recognition that may save you time and money meeting your educational goals.
